Lottie on Mackinac Island features a raccoon cycling past the Grand Hotel gardens on a sunny afternoon. Inspired by the charm of Mackinac Island, this artwork celebrates simple adventures, summer memories, and the freedom of exploring at your own pace.

This blank card (part of my Great Lakes Getaway collection) is produced from my original acrylic painting using archival pigment inks on heavyweight paper. Matching envelope included.

The story behind the artwork is printed on the back of each card, offering a small companion to the moment you see on the front.

Lottie adores the kind of days that move slowly…sunlight, sea breeze, and the gentle hum of bike wheels on a sandy path. She’s been coming to the island every summer since she was a kit, and the Grand Hotel always makes her feel like she’s stepped into a storybook.

Her white dress billows in the warm wind as she pedals past rows of bright flowers, the air sweet with lilacs. She thinks maybe she’ll stop for fudge soon. For now, though, she’s just carefree, coasting through summer, smiling at the simple magic of it all.
