New Greeting Card Paper! - Kristal Serna, Fine Artist

New Greeting Card Paper!

Recently, the paper supplier I had been using became unexpectedly unreliable and inconsistent. So, I've been scrambling to find a replacement supplier. Some of you know that I’ve also been busy with my daughter’s recent wedding and weekend craft shows, so to say this has been a hectic time for me is a bit of an understatement. 😊 But I’m really happy to announce that I found a new paper supplier in the nick of time, and the paper is even better than what I had been using before.

This new paper has an elegant linen texture on the outer surface of the card with a smooth inside surface to make writing on it effortless. The envelope also has a linen texture, so it will make a great first impression with the recipient. The paper is acid and lignin free, so it’s archival, which is great for those of you who like to hang on to your cards or frame them. And the best thing of all is that the paper is specifically made for artists to print their work on, and the colors come out absolutely gorgeous. They’re more vibrant and true to life than previously.

The image below shows a quick snapshot of the same image printed on the old paper and the new paper. The new paper on the right is more vibrant overall and it really brings out the warm brown tones that were lost in the other paper.

So this started out as a bit of a nightmare for me, especially with it happening at the start of the holiday season, but it’s turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I love this new paper, and I think you will too!
