Weekly Update June 15-21
Happy Father's Day! As some of you may remember, my father died earlier this year, so today is somewhat bittersweet for me. But the good thing is I have many, many wonderful memories of him. In honor of Father's Day, here's my favorite dad joke: When does a joke become a dad joke? When it's apparent. :)
I got my car repaired this week, and I learned that catalytic converter theft happens much more often than I realized. I'm glad to have that behind me!
On the art front, I'm continuing to work on my rose painting. I've been jumping around the piece--first working on the rose petals, then shifting to the stems, and now the glass and water. It's my preferred method of painting because I find that I can't complete an area until I see how the other areas look in comparison. For instance, the rose petals looked far to light to me until I painted part of the stems and glass. Now, I see that I won't need to make the petals nearly as dark as I first expected.
I reached 2000 Facebook followers this week. Yay! Thank you to everyone who helped make that possible! If you're not yet following me on Facebook, you can view my page here.
